About Frame Story

My name is Sam. Before starting Frame Story, I studied Commerce and Computer Science at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.

When my classmates and I graduated, many of the gifts exchanged were flowers and teddy bears. They were thoughtful, but I wanted to give one of my friends something more personal — a gift that could hold the details and memories of our time at university.

As a long-time building-brick enthusiast, I created a small graduation scene for my friend. I included details inspired by our university, added my friend’s name, and brought together little references that meant something to us.

My friend loved it. Soon, other friends began asking if I could make one for them too.

What started as a single handmade graduation gift gradually became a collection of personalised display frames. I later opened an Etsy shop, where I began sharing my designs with customers beyond my circle of friends.

As Frame Story grew, I moved to Hong Kong and continued developing the studio there. Hong Kong’s well-connected logistics network made it easier to source materials, expand the range of designs, and dispatch orders efficiently to customers around the world.

Today, Frame Story is an independent studio creating made-to-order keepsakes for graduations, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and other meaningful moments.

Every frame still follows the idea behind that first gift: the smallest details can hold the biggest memories.
